Our wildflower meadow is absolutely gorgeous at the moment – thick with yarrow (achillea millefolium) & common knapweed,(Centaurea nigra) and absolutely buzzing with life!
This field has been left to rewild for the past 4 years (after years of cattle & horse grazing), and the transformation has been incredible. All the meadow flowers you see are naturally occurring, and the biodiversity here just keeps growing.
We’ve planted around 500 native trees in this field around the new cabins, and this summer we spotted our first ladybirds – along with bees, damselflies, dragonflies, and so many more welcome visitors.
At the far end of the field, our natural pond provides a perfect sanctuary for even more wildlife. It’s a beautiful reminder of what happens when we give nature space to breathe.
Below- a short video of the meadow now and the image under is the field before planting native trees and rewilding started in 2021
