Graduate Stories & Practitioner Directory

Our Graduates

Since 2014, more than 50 students have graduated from Satmya’s Ayurvedic Diploma programmes. They have come from a wide variety of personal and professional backgrounds, each bringing their own unique interests and experience to the study of Ayurveda. Today, our graduates are using their training in many different ways—establishing private practices, integrating Ayurvedic wisdom into yoga teaching and holistic therapies, leading retreats, working in wellness centres, and supporting clients across Ireland and internationally.

Ayurveda has grown enormously in popularity throughout the West over the past decade, as more people seek natural, preventative approaches to health and wellbeing. This growing interest has created exciting opportunities for trained practitioners, whether they wish to build their own practice, work alongside other complementary health professionals, or bring Ayurvedic principles into their existing careers.

One wonderful example of this growing demand came when Arunachala Rejuvenation Centre approached Satmya looking to recruit qualified Ayurvedic practitioners. Two of our graduates were successfully appointed and are now working with the centre, demonstrating the high standard of training and practical skills developed through our courses.

We are delighted to share the stories of some of our graduates below. Whether you are looking for an Ayurvedic consultation, therapies, retreats, or yoga with an Ayurvedic approach, we hope this directory helps you connect with practitioners across Ireland and beyond.

Graduate Spotlight

Aoife Barry

Affter completing the Ayurveda Practitioner Diploma at Satmya, Aoife now works as an Ayurvedic Therapist and Practitioner at Arunachala Rejuvenation Centre in Co. Laois. Prior to joining the centre, she established her own practice, AnamAtma – Ayurveda with Aoife, offering consultations and therapies.

Reflecting on her experience at Satmya, Aoife says:

Hi all. My name is Aoife Barry and I did the Ayurveda Practitioner Diploma with Doug at Satmya. Thanks to this, I am now working as an Ayurvedic Therapist and Practitioner at Arunachala Rejuvenation Centre in Laois. Before this I was working for myself as an Ayurvedic Consultant and Therapist as AnamAtma; Ayurveda with Aoife.

I would highly recommend anyone to study at Satmya, whether for personal interest or with the hope to make a new career out of it. The course takes you on a life changing journey with your own body and mind. The bond with the group was a highlight for me and Doug is able to answer any Ayurvedic questions excellently. The location is stunning. What more can I say!

Leah Byrne: I own The Lotus Room Yoga Studio in Skerries, North County Dublin, where I teach yoga from an Ayurvedic perspective. I also offer workshops, retreats, and one-to-one coaching, with Ayurveda forming the foundation of how I work. While I don’t currently advertise myself as a full Ayurvedic practitioner, my Ayurvedic background and perspective inform everything I do. They help me see each person as an individual, recognising their unique constitution, natural tendencies, and what will best support their wellbeing.

I am now returning to study to specialise in working with children, teenagers, and parents. My Ayurvedic training allows me to better understand each person’s unique makeup, enabling me to offer more personalised and compassionate support.

Studying at Satmya was a deeply transformative experience. It immersed me in a way of thinking and living that felt authentic and aligned with my own values. Being surrounded by like-minded people gave me the confidence to trust and integrate Ayurveda into my day-to-day work. It has shaped not only how I teach and support others, but also how I live my own life.

I don’t currently have a website, as my work has grown through word of mouth and I’m fortunate to be busy enough without one. If anyone would like to get in touch, they can contact me by email or phone.

Kevin Casey

“I have recently set up my own Ayurveda practice called ‘Bala Ayurveda‘ in Bantry, in West Cork. Studying at Satmya, not only deepened my understanding of Ayurveda, but it also deepened my curiosity of life. It has given me the foundation to start taking on my own clients and share the wisdom of this great science and medicine. I have also done a talk in my local town during the ‘Imbolc’ wellness festival in February, which opened up my eyes to another way of learning and sharing Ayurveda with my community.

Doug and Yvette have created such a beautiful space to learn, and I always looked forward to travelling to Satmya every month. Learning with a small, like-minded group really created a great learning environment. Forever grateful for this time at Satmya.”
