Prāṇāyāma literally translates as “extension of the prāṇ or breath” or, “extension of the life force”. The word is composed of two Sanskrit words, Prāṇa (life-force) and Ayāma (to extend or draw out). Prāṇāyāma is a yogic practice and is taught as part of yoga classes at Satmya.

Pranayama is a powerful breathing technique that when practiced ensures a healthy body and calm mind. It seeks to lengthen, control and regulate the breath. With regular practice of various types of pranayama you may see improvements in mental, physical and spiritual strength.
