Satmya is owned & run by Doug & Yvette Hyde who have over 15 years experience in the natural medicine sector. Both Doug & Yvette are Irish but trained in Australia. They started Satmya in 2007.

Doug is an Ayurvedic practitioner, Teacher  & co-owner of Satmya. He works in the Satmya clinic and teaches professional & public Ayurveda courses.

Background & Studies

Doug was first introduced to Ayurveda whilst taking a sports psychology class as part of his biology degree in the University of Denver (DU). At the time Doug was on a swimming scholarship in DU and as an elite swimmer the ancient science of Ayurveda peaked his interest greatly.

Upon retiring from swimming he pursued Ayurveda full time  and studied for 4 years at Ayurveda College, Australia. Doug is passionate about teaching Ayurveda and started the first Ayurveda Diploma course in Ireland in 2015.

Yvette is a Naturopath and co-owner of Satmya. She has been in full time practice since 2005. She works in the Satmya clinic & herbal dispensary. She believes everyone can benefit from taking natural remedies both as prevention & in the treatment of many health conditions. She offers a dispensary service every Thursday afternoon where she offers free 15minute consultations and advice on herbal & homeopathic medicines. She also offers more comprehensive consultations at the clinic where she uses Classical Homeopathy, Herbalism & Nutrition.

Background & Studies

Yvette completed a 4 year full time Naturopathy degree at the Australasian College of Natural Therapies & the University of New England, Australia. During her studies she gained experience at a number of clinics and dispensaries. She also went to India to further her Homeopathy studies and attended a postgraduate course at the Bengal Allen College of Homeopathy, Calcutta. Upon completion of her degree in 2005, she was awarded Naturopathy student of the year by Phytomedicine & ACNT.

Since graduating she has continued her studies with some excellent teachers all over the world (Matthew Wood, Julia Graves, Subrata Banerjea, Rajan Sankaran, Jan Scholten and Dinesh Chauhan). She continues to update and upgrade her skills annually.
