Natural remedies for digestion

1. Triphala: An Ayurvedic tridoshic (suitable for everyone) formula par excellence! Triphala is a versatile remedy that is very helpful for problems associated with the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), e.g. constipation, diarrhoea, etc. Read more about Triphala here.

2. Ginger: add it to your food, drinks or take it as medicine.

This common culinary spice is a great ally to your GIT. It warms the stomach, increases bile secretion, enhances fat digestion & movement of food through the GIT, reducing stagnation, irritation and gas. It’s also very useful for nausea and motion sickness. Particularly handy if you’re planning any long trips on a full stomach.

3. Avipathi Choorna: This dynamic Ayurvedic formula is designed to strengthen the digestive fire (agni) without aggravating pitta (heat). It soothes and calms the mucous membranes and helps to alleviate conditions such as heart burn & hyperacidity.

4. Fennel: Sweet delicious fennel is another common culinary spice that aids the GIT. This tasty spice is specific for bloating, flatulence & abdominal swelling. Sip on some fennel tea after your meal to help your food go down & dispel wind discreetly…. (peppermint also useful here)
