About Hatha yoga Classes in Satmya

Yoga asanas and meditation are an essential practice in the quest to connect to the rhythm of our individual prakruti (true nature). Regularly practicing hatha yoga and meditation can be considered the ultimate rasayana (rejuvenation).
Hatha yoga restores balance and harmony in the body and mind through Asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breath work) and meditation. Practising Hatha Yoga can help achieve poise, balance and strength while calming the mind through relaxation and meditation.

Yoga Class Guidelines
  • Arrive at least 10 minutes early for class to give yourself a chance to settle in.
  • Wear loose comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict your movement during practice.
  • Please bring something warm for meditation and relaxation i.e. a blanket.
  • Yoga asanas should be done on an empty stomach so ideally don’t eat up to 2.5 hours before the class.
  • Yoga Mats – Please bring your own mat. If you do not have one or forgot it, there are mats available to rent for €1.
  • If you bring a mobile phone, please make sure to turn it on silent or switch it off.
  • Prior to class inform the teacher of any conditions/injuries/ailments that may affect your practice.


julieJulie teaches Hatha Yoga at Satmya. She was introduced to yoga in her teens and developed a deep respect for this practice over the years.  She completed a diploma in Hatha Yoga Teacher Training under Roy Griffin in YTTC Dublin. She has also completed Restorative Yoga teacher training with the YTTC and Sports Yoga teacher training with Yoga Therapy Ireland

She teaches traditional Hatha Yoga asanas along with pranayama, relaxation and meditation.

Julie is also a qualified Ayurvedic therapist and holds a Diploma in Vegetarian & Vegan nutrition.
