Bliss balls

We often get asked “what’s a healthy snack”. So, here’s a very easy recipe for a “healthy snack”. bliss balls

Please note:

  • Generally, soak about a cup of organic nuts (mixed or one type) with 1 tablespoon of chia seeds. (strain off the water before blending with other ingredients)
  • Use about 3-6 dates depending on their quality (organic medjool are best) and the amount of nuts you’re using. If you’re not a fan of dates, then use other dried fruits instead.
  • Add a few tablespoons of dessicated coconut (depending on how coconutty you want them).
  • Raw chocolate, vanilla, etc is totally dependant on your taste preference
  • If you want to sweeten them more, then add 1-2teaspoons of organic raw honey.
  • You can add coconut oil if you wish but with the chia seeds you don’t totally need it. Again depends on the consistency you prefer.
  • If you’re adding spices (which are recommend for digestibility), then it would be 1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger, 3 -6 green cardamom pods (crushed with shell removed), 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. You can add more or less depending on your preferences and time of year (colder months more, warmer months less). For spices its always best to use either grated or powdered as bark and seeds makes the consistency unpleasant.
  • If you want the superfood versions then add 1/2 tsp of powdered Ashwagandha or Shatavari. This is not the recommended way to get these herbs into your diet but if it’s the only way, then whatever floats your boat!
